What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

We need to create greater awareness for the environmental and conservation issues that are happening around us and we know that photography is an extremely powerful medium to help us do that. In Florida we are focusing on creating awareness for the endangered Florida panther by creating high impact images and videos of these amazing animals and the animals under their umbrella. The panthers are our ambassadors and help us tell this important story that deals in many facets including wildlife crossings and the corridors these lead to, the importance of hydrology and water flow in Florida, as well as the importance of living and thriving with wildlife including an apex predator such as the panthers.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Sharing the Landscape

Through this program we are educating people about the importance of living with wildlife and how we can not just tolerate them, but actually thrive alongside them.
We have a group of homeowners that live in neighborhoods that are on the interface with wild and protected lands who have volunteered to allow us to place cameras on their backyards. With these cameras we get to create content of the wildlife that shares their landscape.
With this content we create education and awareness programs to help educate people about this important subject.
This program is in partnership with the Florida Wildlife Federation

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Create positive awareness for conservation and an understanding of why this is important. The end goal is to have people understand the natural world around us and why it is important to not only conserve, but in many cases restore that world around us. If we can do this we will have created stewards who will want to continue this work for generations to come.

We use a network of remote cameras to generate high impact images and videos that allow us to create awareness through many social media channels but also allow us to create content such as videos and films which serve to educate the viewers.
We also partner with dedicated organizations such as the Florida Wildlife Corridor, Florida Wildlife Federation, and even the Florida Department of Transportation. These partnerships allow all of us to force multiply our efforts and reach a greater number of people and a higher number of goals.

We have the financial ability to purchase the necessary equipment for the remote cameras that is coupled with the technical and field knowledge to know how and where to deploy these cameras in order to generate the necessary content.
Additionally, we have the technical and creative ability to generate important content in the form of videos and films that help us tell these important stories.
The combination of being able to work the remote cameras, track the necessary wildlife for deployments, and then being able to generate powerful content is what allows us to have an impact.

Some of our proud accomplishments so far have been:
1. Our content helped the Conservation Collier initiative get over a 76% approval in the last elections of November 3rd making sure that it received the necessary public funding to continue to operate and grow the network of preserves that it protects.

2. Through our work in our Crossings and Corridors project FDOT was able to identify and approve the implementation of approximately 10 new wildlife crossings in Florida, helping to protect not only wildlife but the motorists using these roadways.

3. Through one of the cameras deployed for our Sharing the Landscape project we were able to generate the video of Rick saving his little puppy Gunner from an alligator. This video has gone viral around the world and has helped create positive awareness for the importance of thriving with wildlife.

  • We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
