What we aim to solve
We wish to help Franklin Regional School District provide world-class educational opportunities for all students in grades K-12, regardless of their zip code. We support and encourage educators and coaches to inspire their students to learn, perform better, and achieve through innovative programs and opportunities. We want Franklin Regional students to have exceptional learning experiences that will benefit them now and well into the future.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Project Lead the Way
PLTW creates an engaging classroom environment unlike any other. PLTW empowers students to develop and apply in-demand, transportable skills by exploring real-world challenges. Through our pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science, students not only learn technical skills, but also learn to solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate, and collaborate. We also provide teachers with the training, resources, and support they need to engage students in real-world learning.
Innovation Grants
Innovation Grants are awarded twice yearly to worthy recipients who demonstrate the need for support of an innovative program in the areas of academics, the arts, or athletics for the Franklin Regional School District.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We strive to create community and business partnerships that will enhance the learning and program opportunities for all Franklin Regional students. Our goals are to provide sponsors and donors with opportunities to join us in our quest to make FR a world-class district with innovative learning opportunities for students in K-12.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The FR Panther Foundation conducts three fundraisers per year including the Festival of the Arts and the Driving Excellence: Golf Invitational. Festival of the Arts is aimed at showcasing student fine and performing arts throughout the Franklin Regional School District. The event raises funds through ticket sales, a professional art auction and basket raffles. It is a chance for the school and greater community to come together to celebrate art in all forms. The Golf Invitational hosts 100 golfers for a day of fun, food, and contests. We also partner with other organizations, such as the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, to host community events such as Taste of the Symphony - a fine food sampling coupled with an evening concert by the WSO. Along the way, the Foundation reaches out to the community to encourage support through annual giving campaigns and Giving Tuesday.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The FR Panther Foundation utilizes the talents and skills of its highly qualified and dedicated Board of Directors along with the volunteer efforts of Franklin Regional School District staff, parents, and administrators. Several committees exist that, under the direction of the Executive Director, spearhead the planning and execution of all fundraisers and events.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The FR Panther Foundation is a new organization. It continues to grow and expand. Through a comprehensive strategic planning process that encompasses the Board of Directors and Franklin Regional School District., the Foundation hopes to expand its reach to include alumni and the greater community. Since its inception only a few short years ago, the Panther Foundation has continued to expand its donor base, support of FR programming, and has engaged the community in the process. The FR Panther Foundation will continue on its path of growth and success so that future generations of FR Panthers can benefit in the classroom, on the stage, or on the athletic field.
