Mission

We seek to increase community access to the water, sailing, and maritime traditions. In 2018, we purchased the Lewis Bay Sailing Hut in order to preserve it as a classroom for other organizations and community members to access and sail on Lewis Bay Cape Cod. We look forward to building a on these initial preservation efforts. There is much left to accomplish. Thank you!

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Increase & enable public access to the water by preserving the Lewis Bay Boathouse & historic Catboat Eventide as living classrooms on Lewis Bay & Nantucket Sound.

We are providing a place for other maritime and community organizations to grow their on-the-water programs. We are fundraising to rebuild and restore a locally famous 1933 catboat named Eventide. Our goal is to connect the community with our local waterways in order to educate and promote the preservation of Cape Cod's natural marine habitat.

Preservation of the boathouse and catboat for community access to the water.

The former Lewis Bay Yacht Club property was acquired from Hyannis Yacht Club. We are maintaining this property as a classroom for sailing and rowing on Lewis Bay. In 2022, the Catboat Eventide was rescued and stabilized in order that it may someday return to sailing as a community boat on Lewis Bay. In 2023, a restoration of the 1933 Catboat Eventide started.
