Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
A central theme throughout all of the libraries within our organization pertains to low socioeconomic status, access to reliable internet connectivity, and expanded services regarding community services or resources. Over the years, the leadership team at ARVRLS formed concentrated efforts to prioritize educational opportunities throughout all areas within the service area, whether limitations were present or not. It has become a standard for all staff and trustees to serve despite limited funding or difficulties caused by geographic conditions.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
With seven library branches within approximately 3,000 square miles, the main objective for effective change is outreach services and expanding traditional library services beyond the physical constraints of library walls. Each branch works alongside community organizations to create long-lasting, dynamic partnerships. These partnerships include but are not limited to area Chambers of Commerce, public school districts, home-school corporations, Extension Services, and local health organizations. Through teamwork and collaboration, the future of libraries and our communities is astounding.
