Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Tribute Comfort Dogs
We are excited to provide visits from well-trained and unconditional loving comfort dog teams handled by service members, veterans and their immediate family.
TCD was founded by a military family to support all those who served and their families. We have all faced the challenges of a military life and respect the sacrifices that the entire family makes. It's not always easy.
Through our dogs we are able to connect and hopefully bring some comfort knowing you're not alone and to show appreciation for all that you give by someone who truly understands the sacrifices.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Lift the spirits of service members and veterans while comforting their families as they deal with the challenges of military and civilian life.
Improve the camaraderie of our military family volunteers (comfort dog handlers) by providing an avenue for them to deliver support and connect to other military families.
Social connectedness is vital to veterans and military families mental and emotional well-being, especially when transitioning back to civilian life.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Tribute Comfort Dogs lifts spirits by providing visits from comfort dog to all of our military families. Our comfort dog teams demonstrate the human health benefits associated with the human animal bond, enriching lives during comfort dog interactions. With the assistance of our dogs we are able to connect and bring some comfort knowing our military families are not alone and to show appreciation for all that they give by those who truly understand the sacrifices. As military families themselves, our handlers know the challenges of military and civilian life.
The Tribute Comfort Dog Program screens volunteers and their dogs, train and prepare them for comfort dog visits with service members, veterans and their families.
Working with Command, Family Readiness Groups, and veteran/military family organizations, Tribute Comfort Dogs will connect its volunteers to events in their own communities that request comfort dog visits.
Tribute Comfort Dogs relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities, and is powered by a family of volunteers to accomplish our mission.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
1.) Our Board of Directors have 28 years of experience in organizational development and executive coaching for both for-profit and not-for-profit corporations.
2.) Our President has over 12 years working professionally in the evaluation and training of dogs, successfully instructing owners in the skills needed to train basic obedience, good K9 companion skills and understanding their dogs' behavior. We look to her leadership in the implementation of our comfort dog training program.
3.) Our experiences and connections, garnered through years of military service, growing up in military families, becoming our own military families and transitioning to civilian life/retirement. We understand those unique challenges that our constituents face.
4.) In the understanding of the human health benefits associated with the human animal bond, enriching lives during comfort dog interactions, proven by science.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Tribute Comfort Dogs was founded in June 2015
In December 2015 we graduated our first two comfort dogs.
We were officially designated as a 501(c)(3) organization in February 2016.
We have gained tremendous support and encouragement from our community.
Our accomplishments will grow every year, and so will our challenges. We will continue to answer the call to support service members, veterans and military families from the moment they join, through their career, transitioning back to civilian life and well into retirement.
