Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Gemma Open Door literacy books and resources

We provide much-needed and hard-to-find reading resources for adults and young adults acquiring English language literacy skills. The program fosters literacy as well as self-esteem, as these books are designed with adult and young adult themes by best-selling authors and important new writers—Roddy Doyle, Maeve Binchy, Kyoko Mori, Naeem Murr, Charles Coe and many more. New readers can go beyond children’s stories with underlying high interest, low reading level books and the accompanying audio books for fluency support.
