Mission

Lavi Project mobilizes volunteers to ease the suffering of disease, hunger, and poverty while empowering the people of Haiti with life, hope, and vision.• Our vision is to implement sustainable programs that improve access to food, water, and lifesaving services now and for future generations so that every Haitian will have the opportunity to achieve his/her fullest potential and contribute to all aspects of life as Lavi Project fully participates in the culture to drive a new era of unity, equality, growth, and productivity.

Notes from the nonprofit

Haitians are some of the most beautiful and resilient people I’ve ever known but they come from the poorest country in the western hemisphere and are victims of decades of corruption and mis-managed aid. Lavi Project brings medical teams and relief to Haiti to ease suffering and disease. Our vision is to implement sustainable programs that improve access to food, water, and lifesaving services now and for future generations, so that every Haitian will have the opportunity to achieve his/her fullest potential, and contribute to all aspects of life, as Lavi Project fully participates in the culture to drive a new era of unity, equality, growth, and productivity.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Haiti has many people who are not receiving basic medical needs, life threatening medical needs and nutritional needs. Lavi Project is structured to serve thousands of people who may never have the means to attain these services and provisions. Medical disparity effects 85-95% of Haitians. Lavi’s framework is to deploy mobile clinics to create opportunities for Haitians to receive medical care who are otherwise unable to travel and access medical care.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Lavi Projects top three goals:

- Treat illnesses and community acquired diseases in remote areas
- Create and support sustainable work projects to fight food disparity and hunger
- Eliminate educational and financial poverty

Lavi Project aims to help provide acute medical and nutritional needs as well as establish a long lasting medical presence in Haiti.

Lavi Project aims to have a physical address and corporate presence in Haiti.

Lavi Project aims to be financially established to pay both full-time and part-time salaries.

Lavi Project currently deploys several medical teams annually that serve Haiti with mobile clinics. These clinics are staffed with professional medical personnel and volunteers. Each clinic is equipped with supplies, medicines, nutritional supplements, and relevant educational materials.

Lavi Project is pursuing relationships with Haitian medical professionals to partner with medical clinics in the country. Our aim is to partner with and support these clinics so that they can provide services to a greater number of Haitians with ongoing medical support. (Our plan is to see these clinics reach full potential capacity.)

Lavi Project Board of Directors is actively engaged in raising awareness of the organization both in-country and stateside.

In-country strategy: continue to send multiple medical teams annually as well as teams for sustainable work projects.

Stateside strategies:
Increase donor base for funding projects, clinics, and staffing with both one-time gifts and ongoing support.

Engaging the Haitian diaspora, creating opportunities for them to support improvement and change for their home country, and creating partnerships with organizations focusing on Haitian diaspora within the U.S.

Lavi Project is a non-profit 501c3 organization with an amazingly active Board of Directors that is working to accomplish identified goals and future growth.

Lavi Project Board of Directors has been carefully chosen and vetted to bring the most critical skill sets to the organization.

Lavi Project is committed to having fiscal integrity and transparency.

Lavi currently has infrastructure established to mobilize several teams each year from the U.S. Lavi has an established Haitian partnership that provides a mobilization center, office, storage, and boarding while teams are in Haiti. Lavi has several connections to community leaders and is actively providing clinics to thousands of Haitians within these communities.

Lavi Project is a legal 501c3 not for profit organization

- Over 14,000 volunteer hours on clinics and projects
- Over 20,000 US Dollars’ worth of medicine distributed
- Over 7,000 Haitians helped with health and medical needs
- Over 350,000 US dollars invested on the ground in Haiti

In summary, Lavi Project will, over the next 3-5 years, dramatically increase its presence in Haiti. This will include increasing medical providers, its volunteer base, and the private donor and corporate funding base. This increase will result in serving and treating 5,000-6,000 patients per year (an increase of 500% from current standing).
