Programs and results
What we aim to solve
The need our organization is working to address is to provide innovative social services to the cystic fibrosis community. In the wake of the great success that has been achieved over the last 60 years in the CF community through the advancement of drug research and therapies, CF patients are now living much longer. Living longer with a progressive terminal disease leads to more complications and challenges that the patients and families face financially, physically, and emotionally over their respective lifetime. Our aim is to find innovative solutions to address these needs head on.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Forever Stoke Scholarships
The purpose of our Forever Stoke Scholarships is to provide positive experiences in a natural healing salt environment, while also empowering the person with cystic fibrosis to develop skill sets that can become a lifelong gift. This can include the lessons and equipment for access to ocean based activities such as surfing, paddleboarding, skimboarding, snorkeling, etc.
Urgent Financial Assistance
Cystic fibrosis can be incredibly difficult on many levels. Having financial stress can be overwhelming, especially while enduring the challenging treatments. We understand this need and provide financial support to help carry them through these hard times. These grants assist with financial needs that are medically necessary from utilities bills to transplants, and many other aspects in between.
Unmasking Mindfulness
Unmasking Mindfulness is an 8-week online instructional meditation program providing a platform for coping tools in the CF community. Unmasking Mindfulness educates people impacted by CF on how to practice mindfulness and meditation with a proven scientific based method to help provide the skills and tools needed to help alleviate the stress, anxiety, and depression associated with living with CF.
Peer To Peer
Piper’s Angels Foundation’s “Peer To Peer” (P2P) program was established to unite and empower the cystic fibrosis community through dedicated mentorship to inspire authentic living. This includes addressing the evolving physical, financial, and socio-emotional needs of individuals personally impacted by CF to achieve a sustainable desired quality of life.
Participants in the P2P program will find guidance through the leadership of our mentors that will empower them to enhance their lives and promote positive living with cystic fibrosis.
Inspire Breathworks
Our complimentary, sustainable, holistic, and educational health solution, Inspire Breathworks, aims to balance the body, mind, and emotions while improving overall well being of individuals with CF by increasing lung function through an 8 week, online breath coaching program.
Clean Air Initiative
Our strategic partner, Stanley Steemer of South Florida and the Treasure Coast provides free air cleaning home services to those with CF in south Florida (Fort Pierce to Miami). The air ducts are the lungs of the home, so indoor air cleaning specialist, Stanley Steemer is providing air duct cleaning services at no charge for families with CF to breathe clean & safe indoor air.
Care Packages
When we find out that a CF Warrior is undergoing hospital admission, we create a personalized care package for them. We mail it out to them so they can receive it during a tough time to help bring a smile to their face.
CF Community Impact Grants
Piper's Angels Foundation partners with other nonprofits that support the mission of serving individuals and families battling cystic fibrosis. The CF Community Impact Grant helps us meet the specific needs for the CF community that our programs don't currently specifically serve. Through this program, we can amplify the impact of our collective efforts and bring about positive change for individuals and families living with CF.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our organization is aiming to build a platform of advocacy for cystic fibrosis patients and families by empowering them through innovative social services in a variety of areas including urgent financial needs, education, health and wellness activities, and critical research.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our strategies for making this happen focus on three main areas:
-First, is to develop a platform for advocacy and education. We are a CF family rallying for other CF families. Our annual flagship event the Crossing For Cystic Fibrosis empowers CF participants to challenge themselves in a bold new way while fundraising to support others through our programs. We have launched the first global day of activism and giving for the CF community called "Warpaint Wednesday". We produce a weekly radio show and podcast called Epic Love Radio that features inspiring stories of love through action in the CF community and beyond to provide a voice for advocacy and to learn how others are taking on the challenges in their life.
-Second, is to provide financial support through our Urgent Financial Support program to help alleviate the financial burden and stress that accompanies this disease.
-Thirdly, we have developed opportunities for our CF patients to participate in life-enhancing activities such as salt water activities, yoga, and mindfulness practices.
- Fourth, we address the psycho-social issues of isolation and nutrition deficits during long-term hospitalizations through our Dining Days program.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our organization's capabilities for doing this are as follows:
-Passion: As a CF family rallying for CF families, we work tirelessly to bring forth the results of a clear focus and mission.
-Team: Our staff, advisory board, and board of directors are very experienced in a variety of skillsets and disciplines. We take a very entrepreneurial approach to our business activities, and pride ourselves on efficiency and responsiveness to the vast and variant needs of our patients, families, donors, sponsors, and strategic partners.
-Community: We believe that forming a culture of all-inclusiveness is key to building a strong community. Our local community of participants and volunteers are passionately driven to help achieve our mission. Our national community of CF patients, families, and social workers continuously grows as our organizations grows, and allows for widespread education and activation for our programs.
-Resources: Powered with passion and fostered through the cultivation of an empowered team and community, our human and financial resources are abundantly available to support our goals.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have accomplished a great deal in a short period of time since our initial launch in January 2017.

Equity strategies
Last updated: 02/27/2024GuideStar partnered with Equity in the Center - an organization that works to shift mindsets, practices, and systems to increase racial equity - to create this section. Learn more
- We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
- We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
- We have a promotion process that anticipates and mitigates implicit and explicit biases about people of color serving in leadership positions.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
- We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
