Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Locust House
Locust House is a fully-furnished home in West Philadelphia with the capacity to house up to 3 residents. At Locust House, Redemption Housing offers a “Next Level Housing” program to support sustained reintegration for men released from incarceration within the past five years. Given the stringent housing limitations placed on returning citizens in Philadelphia, many people with convictions have been rendered homeless, and this program provides a bridge to fully independent living. Residents can remain in this program for up to two years. They are required to be working or in school and must remain clean and sober.
Barnabas House
Barnabas House is a 12-month transitional housing program specifically designed for returning citizens directly exiting incarceration. We believe that people have an inborn desire to connect with those around them and be a part of something greater than themselves, but returning citizens are often excluded from making these connections due to the mistakes of their past. Barnabas House is their place of connection in the community. Residents receive life skill coaching and support from a house chaplain.
