What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Pet Pantry

Our pet pantry started in April 2020 out of concerns surrounding the COVID-19 crisis. FCCAS's wanted to ensure that no family in Cuyahoga County would be forced to give up their pet because they could no longer afford to feed them. This program has steadily grown since it's inception.

The Modi Heartworm Fund was started when the Modi family visited the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter and inquired about heartworm positive dogs. They wanted to help families who could not afford the expensive treatment still be able to adopt these dogs. Through their generosity we were able to create a foster based program that allows the dog to receive the life saving treatment and recover at home, as well as give the family the ability to adopt the dog they want. It is a win-win program!

After a generous donation from the Petco Foundation we started the Behavior Program to support the Behavior and Training team at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter. This program aides in the development of staff and volunteers to train shelter dogs such that are more likely to be adopted, and less likely to return to the shelter environment. This support comes in the way of behavior equipment, staff training, enrichment items, and opportunities for offsite training for the dogs.
