Mission

Walk Me Home Rescue Group is an all-volunteer donation based non-profit organization under IRS section 501(c)(3). We rely on the generosity of our friends and the community to realize our mission of safeguarding, rescuing, medically treating, spay/neutering and finding forever homes for the dogs that enter our rescue. Our dogs come from local street abandonment (dumped), local owner surrenders and local shelter facilities; including dogs scheduled for euthanasia. Our rescue is 100 percent foster based, meaning our dogs are placed in the home of a loving volunteer foster family where they are incorporated into the daily lives of that family. The dogs are evaluated, medically cared for, loved and also receive basic training skills to aid in the transition to their forever home.

Dog Rescue

Walk Me Home Rescue Group (WMHRG) was founded in 2016 with the dream of one mission; to save lives. We are a volunteer based, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that dedicates our lives and resources to rescuing dogs in dire situations, whether it be from high-kill shelters, strays, or owners unable or unwilling to care for their dog.  WMHRG works day and night to help as many as we can. We ensure all our dogs receive medical care, vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchip. We pride ourselves on knowing that we are one of few rescues that will not turn away dogs due to age or illness.

Every single WMHRG dog is placed with a volunteer foster family. In their temporary homes our rescue dogs are fed, loved and nurtured so they can overcome the traumatic experiences endured in the past.  We support our foster families by providing food, medical, bedding and accessories needed to comfort the dogs until adoption. Both fosters and volunteers participate at our adoption fairs held almost every week for their best chance of finding a forever home.
