Hero K9
Ensuring the Provision, Preparation, and Protection of Public Safety K9s™
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Hero K9 was founded to resolve challenges faced by public safety agencies — law enforcement, search and rescue, and fire departments — across our nation by providing K9s, training, and equipment so they are better able to make a positive difference in our communities.
While K9s are generally considered a specialty unit, their service to our neighborhoods is irreplaceable. They locate lost children, detect the spot a fire started, and find criminals in unexpected hiding places. They sniff out illicit substances… and they protect their handlers.
We believe in this purpose because we believe in K9s. They are the reason we exist. Our mission is how we support our communities and make a difference, whether it's right next door to us or half the nation away, each and every day.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Hero K9's goal is to bridge the gap between departments/agencies and the equipment they need to sustain, protect, and maintain their K9 program. By locating funds through general donations and individual/corporate sponsorships, we are able to procure, for these agencies, the items included in our equipment grant program offerings.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Through an active online and social media presence, annual and other online and physical fundraising events, networking, solicitation, and newsworthy information, Hero K9 aims to put itself in front of potential sponsors and grant recipient agencies-in-need to create and maintain lasting relationships through which we achieve our goal.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Hero K9 is a 100% volunteer organization, each of whom has chosen to help move our mission forward through active participation on/by our Board of Directors, Advisory Council, event-related activities, fundraising, and more. As our needs grow, so does our volunteer base, so that our capabilities are able to sustain our needs.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since inception, we have awarded equipment grants in 23 states!
This equates to 124 pieces of equipment provided 57 agencies and 76 K9s and a grand total of public support of over $120,000.
