Hickory, NC   |  www.hopeministryuganda.org

Mission

Through Hope Ministries Uganda:USA's partnership with Hope Ministries Uganda and Pastor Gerald Tugume our mission is to build awareness of the plight of a forgotten people and to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to them through a holistic approach. Part of this holistic approach is understanding the extreme poverty and discrimination from which the Batwa come from and recognizing that poverty is more than just low income. Our mission is based off of redeeming, restoring, rebuilding and raising up the lives of the Batwa tribe, and spreading the gospel message through out Uganda.

Sponsorship

Our sponsorship program is the heart of Hope Ministries Uganda. We want to see this next generation of children RISE UP! Sponsoring a Seeds of Hope Child provides them with three meals a day, education, and basic medical care. Through sponsorship you are helping to bring hope to children who once were forgotten by society and only thought of as being less then human by local tribes. Scripture calls for us to, "Vindicate the weak and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and destitute," (Psalm 82:3).

Population(s) Served
Children and youth
Indigenous peoples

In November 2017, Hope Ministries Uganda partnered with Melissa Heiland and Beautiful Feet International to plant and establish the Masiiko Pregnancy Care Center among the Batwa tribe. Our Masiiko Pregnancy Care Centers are operated by Barbara Tugume. There are currently 5 centers located in Mukungu, Nayanamo, Rubuguri, Kasovu, and Kabale.

We need your support to help our Masiiko Pregnancy Care Centers to operate. It takes approximately $1400 a month to run our monthly meetings for our five centers. This provides each of the women with soap, vaseline, food (posho and beans), clothes for the children, pre-natal vitamins, clothes for the unborn babies, a center meeting lunch, and transport.

Population(s) Served
Pregnant people
People of African descent
