What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Equine Interaction Program

The purpose of this program is to assist veterans and first responders, being mindful of those suffering from PTSD. By rescuing, retraining and repurposing horses, the Warrior Ranch Foundation gives veterans a path and purpose. The Warrior Ranch Foundation educates veterans on the ‘nature of horses’. Equine Specialist will do the initial retraining while the veteran observes. When the Equine Specialist deems the horse safe, the veteran will step in and execute the basic skills he/she was taught. Based on the horse’s response to the veteran, the Equine Specialist will be able to give feedback to support the veteran in going forward with the exercises. This aides both the veteran and horse, giving a second chance to both human and horse.
