What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Faculty Development Minicourses and Workshops
We offer mathematics faculty an active and engage introduction with practice in the art and science of teaching differential equations through modeling. This is done through small group work in a dedicated time (usually 4-8 hours for minicourses and one week for workshops and ) and practice teaching by participants.
Modeling Scenario Development Workshops
We bring faculty developers together for a week long workshop in which each person develops and writes modeling scenarios and other materials for the broader SIMIODE community and then submits this material for peer-review and editing to be published online in SIMIODE.
Develop, Enhance, and Maintain SIMIODE Web Community
Together with the Director a team of two professional Technical Directors develop and shape the HUBzero platform on which SIMIODE resides to provide enhanced opportunities for SIMIODE community members to support their teaching aspirations. The support consists of contract salary, travel, conference, and HUBzero Foundation support on technical issues.
Materials Review and Referee System
SIMIODE maintains a stand alone manuscript management system, simiode.expressacademic.org for the purpose of double-blind, peer-reviewed publication of all its online resources.
