Mission

IARUD 's mission is to eliminate poverty, certain homelessness health risks, and improve the overall quality of life, through education and affordable housing. The education efforts focus on the most needful members of the urban and rural population. These are primarily at-risk young adults, homeless people, children, and underprivileged women in general. Our vision is to take any action of general interest that can contribute to the development and progress of rural and urban communities in poor countries particularly and in the world in general. We want to see that the communities we serve have the capacity to sustainably meet their basic human needs.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

International Association for Rural and Urban Development has many goals:
-Reduce poverty in developing countries in particularly and in the world in general. By 2020, IARUD would like to serve more than 1 million people all around the world.
-Work for environment quality. By 2020, we would like to work with the population to keep the environment clean in more than 200 rural and urban areas.
-Work for a better health of the population. We would like to raise the awareness of 1 million people about preventing many public diseases by 2020.

To reduce poverty in developing countries, International Association for Rural and Urban Development (IARUD) is helping and advocating for kids to go to school. For example, in Burkina Faso 56% of the kids do not go to school, and only 81% reach the 5th grade. Most of the Burkinabe population live below the poverty line that is $1.90 per day. Evidence shows that if we invest more in children education, poverty is reduced at a faster rate.

To work for the environment quality IARUD is really encouraging the population to keep their living area clean and planting more trees for the protection of our environment. Cleaned environment means healthy population.

To work for a better health of the population, IARUD is focusing on the awareness campaign of preventing many public diseases.

The capabilities that International Association for Rural and Urban Development has to meet our goals are:
-Human resources (availability of our volunteers)
-The help of our partners
-Good organization
