What we aim to solve
1 in 44 children (1 in 27 boys, 1 in 151 girls) are diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Tennis is a structured sport activity that enhances gross motor and fine motor skills, communication and social skills for both children and adults on the spectrum. Our vision is to better serve individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Disabilities to promote self-love and functional independence within the community and to provide inclusuve opportunities for autism awareness, understanding and acceptance.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Love Serving Autism expands life skills, especially communication, through specialized therapeutic tennis instruction in order to increase community inclusion and independence of individuals with developmental challenges. The goal is for participants to apply their newly learned skills throughout the community, including school, workplace, social/recreational gatherings, and home settings.
90% of participants will improve with fine/gross motor and expressive language skills within one year across all program locations.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We are opening new after-school and community-based tennis programs in the Florida region and the US as well as marketing the organization through social media andwith autism advocates in the community.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The founder of Love Serving Autism is a certified tennis professional with the United States Professional Tennis Association and is certified as Speech-Language Pathologist for 19 years by the American-Speech and Language Hearing Association. For 6 years, she was the Florida Director of a national nonprofit tennis organization for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Love Serving Autism will utilize its tennis and autism resources to continue to grow both financially and to open new programs for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Love Serving Autism opened it's first RALLY After-School tennis program in January 2017 at the Palm Beach School for Autism in South Florida with 40 children participating in the 8-week session. We currently provide therapeutic tennis instruction to children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Challenges at 12 charter school and community-based programs in Florida. Love Serving Autism designed an adaptive tennis pathway from beginner to competive tennis and offers adaptive tennis training classes for tennis professionals.
Our bigger vision is to design an indoor inclusive therapeutic tennis and recreational center in Florida for individuals who are both neurotypical and with special needs.
