What we aim to solve
We believe we have been called to raise funds for animal shelters/rescues, and pet families in need. We use funds raised from our various events to: give directly back to cover vet or utility bills for a shelter or rescue building, and purchase cleaning supplies/blankets/towels to give directly to shelters, as well as directly sponsoring spay/neuter surgeries. We also use our website and social media to educate and connect with community members who aren't sure about adoption, or may feel weary about spay/neuter.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The Jurnee's Journey Foundation provides support to animal rescue organizations and sponsors spay/neuter surgeries. The Jurnee’s Journey Foundation will be the premiere spay/neuter voucher program in the Tri-Cities area, providing support to associated organizations and promoting kindness to animals.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our biggest resources come from participating in various fundraising events. We hold the annual Ride 2 RESCUE motorcycle run, and are vendors at animal-related events throughout the year. We are very open and clear about how much was raised at each event and donated to each shelter by documenting every "giving" moment on our social media pages and website. We also host the Miss Jurnee's Journey award at a local pageant to get girls involved in collecting food and litter for animal shelters. So far we have collected over 60,000 pounds and given it all back!
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our founder, Jurnee Carr Stout, has 2 major beliefs that keep the organization going: lead by serving, and be passionate about keeping the mission first. Jurnee earned her Master's in Nonprofit Management from Grace College (December 2018), and encourages volunteers and community members to serve with passion. We believe this verse from Proverbs 31:8 to be true: "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves." When we are passionate about our purpose of being voices for those who only have a bark or meow, then we are truly serving. We have 10+ years of experience in creative fundraising event design and implementation, and branding the JJF as an organization that truly gives back for good. Above all, we are passionate about animals!
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
2018: The next step the JJF would like to take is creating a spay/neuter voucher program. We are currently assessing the best way to source funds for this sustainable program that will help reach the goals of our vision: "The vision of Jurnee's Journey Foundation is to eliminate unnecessary breeding practices, and euthanasia in shelters. We provide ways for current and prospective pet parents to achieve these goals by encouraging adopting from a shelter and encouraging spay/neutering through education, and providing support through fundraising. Every animal deserves a loving, forever home!" We plan on partnering with local vets in the Tri-Cities area and have an open-location application.
2019: Our voucher program officially launched in March 2019! We are excited to reveal the results of this program.
2020: Even in an unprecedented year, we were still able to provide surgery sponsorships. We also collected hundreds of pounds of dog and cat food, treats and toys to drop off at the homes of pet families who were unable to get out and about.
2022: We began directing pageants to help raise funds for surgeries. We have been very successful in educating the public on the need for spay/neuter as well as sponsoring hundreds more surgeries than we ever could have been able.
