What we aim to solve New!

Each year, millions of people in the US -- especially those of modest means and those who live in rural areas -- cannot obtain crucial, but non-emergency medical care, due to transportation issues. For those individuals who need to be transported to and from: medical appointments; nursing homes; rehabilitation facilities, etc. and need to be on a stretcher, but do not need life-sustaining medical attention en route, the cost can be prohibitive. Compassion Airlifts' uniquely-outfitted Bonanza provides the only charitable single-engine stretcher-equipped plane on the East Coast. The ability to reach people in a timely manner in some of the most rural areas is another aspect of Compassion Airlift. Many patients and individuals need access to recurring treatments hundreds of miles away from their homes. CA's professional, experienced, and well-accomplished aviators donate their time and their talent to provide this free service so that those they serve can focus on their health.

Compassion Airlift exists to help those individuals who need timely, affordable, and safe transportation to and from medical appointments, procedures, etc. as well as nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, and treatment centers. We provide transportation at no cost to those who need it most. Our goal is to provide this free transportation service to as many people as possible. In order to achieve this goal, we aim to ensure our volunteer pilots are current and up-to-date on all FAA requirements for being flight -ready and that they are trained, proficient and versed in all relevant safety procedures.

Connecting with those we serve: Connecting with the medical and social services industries are key in helping to connect Compassion Airlift with those who benefit from its free services. Our volunteers reach out to the medical facilities, rehabilitation and treatment centers in the region: Virginia, Washington, DC, Maryland, Delaware, to raise awareness of CA's accessible transportation option. Partnering with relevant aviation-based organizations: Compassion Airlift partners with several other nonprofits and organizations in the area to connect them with individuals who otherwise would not be aware CA's services exists. Provide continuous training on safety and aircraft procedures: Compassion Airlift ensures that all of its volunteer pilots are current in all aspects of their FAA requirements.
