Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Serve as a local distribution site for free nutritious food products to those residents of Collins and Rockwall Counties requesting food support.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Efficiently and effectively operate an all-volunteer food pantry in full compliance with USDA and Feeding America guidelines. Seek external support to develop additional infrastructure needed to expand our current capabilities to feed more hungry people.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We operate a warehouse and distribution center equipped with both walk-in and stand-alone freezers and refrigerators to successfully store perishable food products, addition to storing both dry and canned goods.
In addition to receiving delivered foods from the North Texas Food Bank, we operate a trucking transportation system to collect charity food products on a weekly basis from local grocery stores.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have distributed 2.6 million pounds of food to over 3,000 needy families in 2023. We are planning to resurface and illuminate our parking lot to improve client and volunteer safety in 2024. We are planning to purchase a second refrigerated food truck to significantly expand our charity food pick-up capabilities in 2024.
