Created to help distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to the street children and nutritional food to the homeless and unwanted of society. Mission is to help prevent malnourishment in those at risk and help provide medical care to those suffering the effects of malnourishment. Currently we are providing fresh fruits and vegetables to those at risk of malnourishment and medical supplies to hospitals and health clinics providing care for those suffering the effects of malnourishment.

“Neighbors Helping Neighbors".

Feed My Children’s Fund distributes to impoverished Families fresh nutritious fruits and vegetables Helping those suffering malnutrition. When families are ravished by economic hardship the family members suffers. Many impoverished families can no longer care for themselves. To address this situation Feed My Children’s Fund distributes through our community Agents 60 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to impoverished families so that they to can have the food they need.

Population(s) Served

Feed My Children’s Fund provides Medical Supplies to Organizacion Christiana De Beneficio Social Esperanza De Vida Children's Hospital (St. Lukes) which serves over 12,000 patients annually with services provided 24 hours every day: these supplies are used in providing medical care for their Baby Rescue program where 3,000 children on the brink of starvation are brought to the St. Lukes Hospital annually. These sick children are found in some of the most remote areas of Guatemala and are transported by burro, canoe and truck. Many stay at the St. Lukes Nutritional Center for weeks, others are abandoned by their parents and are given a home in the children's home, and some have dire needs that they must be sent to far away hospitals in an effort to save their lives.

This activity includes obtaining excess Fruits and Vegetables from Food Brokers. We develop relations with food Brokers and obtain their excess produce that though it is nutritionally good it can not be marketed because of lack of demand. As it is costly to them to have to haul it to the landfill and pay dumping fees they will gladly ask us to pick it up from them.

Food Distribution

The Food that we rescue is distributed in two ways

1. Agency Distribution
This is where we identify quality agencies who we supply with free produce for distribution to those at risk of malnourishment.

2. Volunteer distribution
This is where we identify volunteers who we supply
with free produce for distribution to those at risk of malnourishment.

The activities are conducted by the trusties and other volunteers
The activities are done on a daily basis.
The activities provide relief and aid to reduce human suffering as a result of hunger through feeding and produce distribution activities for those at risk of malnourishment.

The activity are funded by freewill donations from the public.

Medical Supplies and Medicines Rescue

This activity includes obtaining excess Medical Supplies and Medicines from Hospitals, Urgent Care Centers and Doctor Offices. We develop relations with Hospitals, Urgent Care Centers and Doctor Offices and obtain their excess Medical Supplies and Medicines that are brand new and perfectly good As it is costly to them to have to haul it to the landfill and pay dumping fees they will gladly ask us to pick it up from them.


Medical Supplies and Medicines Distribution

The Medical Supplies and Medicines that we rescue are distributed in two ways

Feed My Children’s Fund distributed a total of 3,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables valued at $4,980. Providing 2,500 meals to 150 at risk families and helped 300 hungry children. The direct clients are served by our Community Agents who distribute up to 60 pounds to families in need in their neighbor hoods. ************************************************************* Feed My Children’s Fund collaborates with a host site (Church, School or civic group) who provides between 10 and 15 volunteers and identifies people in the community who will come and select up to 60 lbs of produce that they will deliver to people they have identified who are in need. A semi load of 5 to 7 varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables is set up on tables where the community agents can select the produce they will distribute to people in need in their community.

Feed My Children’s Fund provided the following Medical Supplies to Organizacion Christiana De Beneficio Social Esperanza De Vida Children's Hospital (St. Lukes) which serves over 12,000 patients annually with services provided 24 hours every day: In-kind contributions: General Medical supplies. With a value of $23,400. *************************************************************These supplies help their Baby Rescue program where over 3,000 children on the brink of starvation are brought to the St. Lukes Hospital each year. These sick children are found in some of the most remote areas of Guatemala and are transported by burro, canoe and truck. Many stay at the St. Lukes Nutritional Center for weeks, others are abandoned by their parents and are given a home in the children's home, and some have dire needs that they must be sent to far away hospitals in an effort to save their lives.
