The Gotham Philosophical Society uses the critical rigor and analytical imagination of philosophical thought to transform the civil, political, and educational institutions of New York City. Our two-fold aim is to create a New York that is concerned with the flourishing of all its people and to prepare our children to lead this new city into the future.

Young Philosophers of New York

Young Philosophers of New York is the youth educational program of the Gotham Philosophical Society, Inc. Through innovative courses and activities facilitated by our ‘philosophers in residence,’ we bring students into collaborative communities of inquiry about questions both timeless and timely. Articulating and assessing possible answers to philosophical questions develops intellectual capacities and interpersonal skills that will help children thrive both in school and in life.
