What we aim to solve
No one was meant to parent alone. No matter who you are, where you come from, or what has brought you to this journey, it is safe to say that making the leap from pregnancy to parenthood isn't always easy. With the current gap in postpartum care and the constant demands of caring for a new baby, parents are often isolated, exhausted, and overwhelmed. 1 in 7 mothers and 1 in 10 fathers will suffer from some form of depression during pregnancy and/or the postpartum period. We all know someone whose life has been affected by the added stress of a new baby, and may not have known how to help or where to turn. Support during pregnancy and the postpartum period is not a luxury, it is a necessary part of growing a family. Every family deserves support.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Blossom Mom
Blossom Mom is a welcoming and nurturing space for moms with babies of all ages, all stages who wish to connect on the joys and challenges of parenthood while gaining wisdom from other mothers on the journey. Join us for a morning of connection, compassion and love in this bi-weekly support group.
Moms Like Me
Moms Like Me is a powerful, multi-dimensional event to raise awareness, lessen shame, and provide resources and information about the postpartum experience. Many mothers and families feel alone during this major life transition. The goal of Moms Like Me is to change that - to air the laundry, so to speak - so that parents everywhere will look around and feel, "yes, me too. I am not alone, we are not alone." Across the nation, people are starting to break the silence about the challenges of the postpartum period and Moms Like Me creates a safe space for healing, a place for connection, and a bridge to local resources. This is an annual event featuring storytelling and an expert panel.
Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Circle
Grief, when shared becomes a lighter load to bear. Stories, when told in a safe space, are empowering and healing. Babies' names, when spoken are remembered forever. The goal for this group is to create a safe space to move through and honor your unique journey and use the power of community for healing. This group is for any loss, at any stage of pregnancy through the first year of life.
re:born
re:born is for anyone who has been touched by the birth of another human being, including mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers, even friends, as we know that the collective human experience is better off when shared. The goal for re:born is to provide a safe space for healing by sharing real stories of the transformative effects that birth and the postpartum period has on our bodies, physically and emotionally. It is our hope that our community will feel empowered by having the opportunity to share a vulnerable, intimate, and authentic story to help connect them to the greater human experience.
