USA Junior and Development Surf Team

Identify the top Junior surfing talent in the USA. Select, train and field the teams to International Surfing Association World Junior Surfing Championships as the official USA Junior Surf Team. Our teams are gender equal.

To successfully advance its mission and vision, USA Surfing will focus its time, energy and effort in the following key areas:
• ATHLETE SUPPORT. Lead the surfing community in the holistic development of athletes with an emphasis on health, safety and the performance pipeline.
• BRAND & REVENUE STRENGTH. Enhance recognition and positive perception of the USA Surfing brand and create expanded opportunities for financial support.
• SPORT & MEMBERSHIP GROWTH. Grow and retain members and fans with targeted opportunities for training and experiencing the sport and USA Surfing.
• STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS. Unify the sport by strengthening relationships and building partnerships with international and domestic organizations.

ATHLETE SUPPORT
Fully implemented U.S. Center for SafeSport policies and procedures including training and background checks on all personnel with access or influence over athletes. Events and procedures audited by SafeSport with an "A" grade.
Helped establish a domestic tour with the World Surf League.
Instituted youth development program.
Continued with the USA Surfing Prime Series in February 2020 which had been postponed due to Covid-19.
Programs and support resulted in the first Women's Surfing Gold Medalist - USA Surfing's Carissa Moore.

BRAND & REVENUE STRENGTH
Developed content that was viewed worldwide during the 2020 Olympics. USA Surfing Social Media Engagement was ranked 4th against all Olympic Summer sports.
Judge development program resulted in one of our female judges being named to the 2020 Olympic Judging Panel. Our program produced the only two women judges on the World Surf League International Panels.
Added numerous major National Sponsors.
