What we aim to solve
Over population of dogs due to lack of spay/neuter education and funding. Dogs suffering from neglect due to personal struggles and lack of understanding how to care for a dog's physical needs. Dogs suffering from abuse due to lack of enforcement of animal welfare laws.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Missouri Bully Alliance
Missouri K9 Friends educates and advocates for ending BSL (breed specific legislation) in Missouri. The Missouri Bully Alliance recruits volunteers at the local level in municipalities with BSL to contact those elected officials asking for the repeal of breed specific ordinances, and asking that those ordinances be replaced with non-breed specific ordinances to help keep the community safe and families together. The Missouri Bully Alliance also is working at the state level, encouraging state law makers to protect families from BSL in Missouri.
Missouri K9 Friends Rescue
Rescuing dogs in need, placing in foster homes, providing vetting and any other needs, then adopting them to approved homes.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Placing dogs in need into foster homes, where they are nursed back to health, emotionally and physically, then placing them into approved adoptive homes after medically cleared, spayed/neutered and microchipped. We are educating the community on the importance of spay/neuter, proper vet care and animal welfare through our social media platforms and pushing for prosecution of animal abusers by helping law enforcement and working with prosecuting attorneys.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
To help get dogs spayed and neuter wherever we see the opportunity with helping covering the cost and providing transportation if needed. Posting information about proper vet care needed by dogs on social media and encouraging the public to report neglect and abuse when they see it in their community.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We feel capable with the volunteers and supporters we have in place. We work with animal rescue networkers in getting dogs spayed and neutered whenever we bring puppies in from families have unaltered pets. Our social media platform continues to grow, we are capable of getting information about proper animal care and how to spot neglect and abuse.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Every dog we have brought into our rescue has been altered, in addition to family pets that do not need rescue. There is still much more work to do here.
We found Trooper's (lab found in ditch near death) abuser, had charged pressed and almost had a trial. We are still working on re-filing charges against Trooper's abuser.
