Cannonballs Across America
Cannonballs Across America is a cross-country bicycle ride from California to Florida raising $1m for DIPG and pediatric brain cancer research in the summer of 2019, with objectives of educating about brain tumors and connecting people together.
Family Financial Aid/Assistance
Provide families afflicted by DIPG with financial aid/assistance, working with hospitals and social workers to identify eligible grantees.

Cannonballs for Kayne is an emerging pediatric brain cancer charitable organization focused on aiding families, educating the community about brain tumors and funding research and patient care facilities for cures of DIPG / DMG - diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma / diffuse midline glioma - and pediatric brain cancers.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The Cannonballs for Kayne childhood brain cancer charitable organization has an experienced, philanthropic Board of Directors to provide strategic oversight of program objectives.
Medical research funding - Fund medical research to uncover cures for DIPG / DMG pediatric brain cancers found in children, teens and adults. This funding includes: 1) My DIPG Navigator, a nurse navigator program for newly diagnosed families, https://www.mydipgnavigator.org/; 2) DIPG / DMG Research Funding Alliance, a program funding research, trial access and data needs, supporting a Medical Advisory Council to recommend collaborative research opportunities to benefit the DIPG / DMG community, https://ddrfa.org/; and various other initiatives in Columbus, Ohio, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Palo Alto, California.
Family Financial Aid/Assistance - Provide families throughout the United States afflicted by DIPG / DMG with financial aid/assistance, working with hospitals and social workers to identify eligible grantees.

The Cannonballs for Kayne pediatric brain cancer charitable organization has a passionate and growing volunteer base and has demonstrated a strong fundraising capability since its 2017 inception.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The Cannonballs for Kayne pediatric brain cancer charitable organization since inception has provided financial aid/assistance to many families through fundraising events. The organization made its first medical research grant for DIPG and similar brain tumors in 2018.
Establishing the Cannonballs Across America program in May 2018, the program launched with a cross-country bicycle ride from California to Florida raising awareness for DIPG and pediatric brain cancer research in summer of 2019, with objectives of educating about brain tumors and connecting people together.
The organization has played a significant role in raising awareness with the governors of Florida, Kentucky and Louisiana, proclaiming May 17 as DIPG Awareness Day. As an advocate for childhood cancer, the organization has visited Capitol Hill in Washington DC supporting National DIPG Awareness Day and passage, funding for The STAR Act and bring awareness to what our leaders can do to improve survivorship, treatments, access and research for children fighting cancer.
