What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Environmental Education
The environmental education program focuses on connecting people of all ages and abilities with nature to increase environmental stewardship and environmental literacy. Through music, arts, crafts, play and special events, Legacy Greenscapes will offer creative, nature-focused programs allowing people to make meaningful connections with nature.
Legacy Volunteers
Legacy Volunteers is a program designed to cultivate volunteers looking to make meaningful connections with neighbors, park guests, and nature. Legacy Greenscapes invites volunteers to assist with environmental stewardship, environmental programs and activities, and play-focused programs. All volunteers receive training to prepare them to serve the community in an outdoor setting at Legacy Grove or the Traveling Trail. The program hopes to expand its volunteer program to serve schools, educational institutions, and community groups needing environmental education programs.

- We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
- We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
- We disaggregate data by demographics, including race, in every policy and program measured.
- We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
- We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
