What we aim to solve

Provide an inclusive environment for athletes ages 8+ with intellectual disabilities, and a sense of community for families, by offering social events and athletic teams that encourage peer relationships, skill development, acceptance, respect and fostering self-esteem.

Special Athletes Can Choose from 5 Different Sports

Athletes ages 8+ through adult with mental and/or physical challenges can choose from six (6) different sports to participate in - Bowling, Basketball, Swimming, Track, Softball and Bocce Ball. Unified partners (athletes with no mental/physical challenges) are invited and encouraged to participate. Additional coaches and volunteers are always welcomed!

(i.e. clinics, workshops, outings, service projects, mixers, etc)

• Ongoing fundraising efforts (i.e. sponsorships, support from other groups)

What we've accomplished so far:
• Offer 5 sports with team reps
• 40+ member families and 80+ athletes and growing
• 501(c)(3) status
• Annual budget has grown to $12,000+
• Expanded fundraising events (car wash grows each year; concessions)
• Better website, Twitter, videos about NBC
• Award winning parade participation (Gladfest, Snake Saturday)
