Let Our House Be Your Home Inc
To provide affordable housing for underserved individuals
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our organization seeks to find affordable housing for the underserved. We recognize that thousands of men and women are capable of being released from incarceration but are unable because they have no residence address or one that is not accepted by the Department of Corrections.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Let Our House Be Your Home, Inc.
Let Our House Be Your Home is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing affordable housing for the underserved. Our current mission is to find safe and approved housing so that our incarcerated "returning citizens" may be released to recover and overcome life's challenges. We have so many requests but so few residences for these individuals. We are an active participant of THOR, Transitional Housing for Offender Reentry in Georgia which is a directory of community-based housing for persons being released from prison or on probation or parole.
Affordable housing for the underserved
Our goal is to find affordable housing either through rental or buying for the underserved populations in the greater metro Atlanta region. These underserved include victims of domestic abuse, pregnant teens, veterans, individuals recovering from substance abuse and our most challenging group are returning citizens after incarceration adjusting to society.
Louise's House
Louise's House is a program for returning citizens, who have been incarcerated for sex offenses. We provide weekly counseling to help individuals with job placement, and self supporting endeavors which has been approved and endorsed by the Parole Board.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to acquire homes that are safe and accepted by the Department of Corrections so that the "returning citizens" may be released. We aim to help these individuals acclimate to this freedom with counseling and healthcare awareness. We want them to become productive and contributing citizens as they overcome life challenges.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We are working with HUD and other real estate avenues to find housing for these citizens.
We accept property, household items, and monies to increase our ability to acquire these homes.
We have engaged another organization with similar interests to accept our referrals when our capacity has been reached.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have a physician on our Board who can consult on healthcare advice.
We have incorporated a program entitled, "Louise's House," a counseling rehabilitation service helping these newly released individuals find jobs, obtain credit, and acclimate to this society with the tools they did not have access to while incarcerated.
We introduce our residents to persons seeking the services and skills they have had or are acquiring now that they are free.
Finally, we have the families willing and able to support these efforts by contributing funds to allow them to reside in this safe and warm environment.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We own one house, which is at capacity. We have referred at least 50 families to another organization with similar goals. We personally address each request that we receive concerning housing availability and give the families of these incarcerated individuals hope!
