Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We are a new organization, and the sky is the limit! We want to help families obtain the treatment their child needs by assisting with medically necessary travel expenses. We do not think any child should go without a life-saving treatment simply because their family cannot afford the costs of traveling back and forth between appointments and procedures. We would love to be able to help every family that asks for assistance, and be a blessing in that way for their family.
We also want to be able to provide as many children as possible with the ability to participate in team sports programs in their communities, or to participate in a summer camp program, or to have the necessary supplies for school, and even something as simple as just a new pair of shoes. Not every child is as fortunate as ours, and we want every child to experience some of the blessings we have been fortunate enough to have in life.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our founding member and president competes in triathlons and other races. He designates a goal of $100 for every mile he will race. His current registered and upcoming race is Ultraman Florida, where he will swim, bike, and run a total of 321.6 miles. He is seeking "sponsors" to donate toward his efforts during the training process. Additionally, we are recruiting other athletes to raise funds in the same manner for races of their choice. We are getting involved in our local community and plan to volunteer at athletic and family events in order to increase awareness about our organization.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Tommy has a proven track record of raising funds through his athletic endurance events. He has raised funds twice before for two different established organizations, and has always exceeded his fundraising goals by thousands of dollars.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have a long way to go to reach our current campaign goal of $32,060. We have accomplished so much in a short amount of time. The entire organization has been set up, including the approval of the IRS to be recognized as a 501(c)(3) in less than a month from our organization's start date of March 17, 2017. We haven't done much publicity yet, but we have launched our social media accounts, and have started to spread the word that we are accepting donations. Some small donations have already come in, and we are anticipating a flood of donations in the very near future.
