What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Children in our society do not play outside in the neighborhood with friends as they once did. Kids, especially through the elementary and middle school years, tend to meet their circle of friends through similar interests in programs or activities. For children whose families are limited financially, this means they miss the opportunity to participate in these programs alongside other children. Whether it is for enrichment, dance, gymnastics, karate, sports, music or art programs, Confikids will provide scholarships for children to enroll in such activities. Children build confidence learning how to excel at what they enjoy and meet a group of friends with similar interests.

Five powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?

Our goal is for al children to be able to participate, learn and grow from the activities they have interest in. We hope to help children, who once could not enroll in programs due to cost, have the same opportunities as children who are not limited financially. If children are given the opportunity to excel in their interests, then they have goals and dreams and less idle time. We hope to give these children a chance to grow in confidence.

ConfiKids raises funds through grants, donations and fundraising events to provide scholarships to children in need.

We have a team of volunteers and an amazing Board of Directors who are dedicated to our mission. We have signature events that are greatly supported and more corporations joining our team in terms of volunteering and giving. We have a mission to raise the program scholarships funding each year.

We receive hundreds of emails from parents and letters from children grateful that they [their children] could learn and grow in their activities.

In 2018, our first full year of giving scholarships, we gave over $42,000, this year (2019) we are on track to give $100,000. Our events tend to get larger with even more support year after year and as people hear more about our services, we receive many more unsolicited donations. For 2020, we hope to exceed our recent goals for scholarships
