What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Hemlock Woolly Adelgid
The Cook Forest Conservancy will work with state and private agencies to control and hopefully eradicate the invasive insect threatening the iconic Eastern Hemlock trees of the nationally-significant old growth stands of Cook Forest State Park and surrounding areas.
Trail Bridge Replacement
The steel trail bridges of Cook Forest State Park are being closed and require replacement - six bridges at approximately $100k each, plus refurbishment of the Swinging Bridge suspended over Tom's Run. The CFC is working with the DCNR and other groups to raise funds to keep these trails open - trails through the Forest Cathedral, a National Natural Landmark.
