Simple Steps was established from our founder’s first-hand experience as an immigrant working mom. She was the mom of a one-year-old when she started her master's degree in public policy. After having her second child, working full-time became more challenging - the physical and emotional cost gradually grew out of control. To face up to her new reality, she navigated various employment options, including part-time jobs and remote work. She met many talented immigrant women and heard that they had either discontinued their careers or barely managed to stay in the workplace. She realized that their challenges came from limited support networks as well as the language and cultural barriers. Our team consists of 100% of immigrant women dedicated to helping other women in similar situations. Each staff member comes from a wide range of expertise, including law, engineering, design, education, program management, and nonprofit management. The board members and advisory group are also foreign-born professionals who carved their careers as an immigrant. They provide in-depth and broad knowledge and experience in technology, marketing, partnership, and fundraising.

- Developed a community of 1000+ people composed of talented immigrant women, volunteers, corporate partners, and nonprofit partners organizations
- Organized 40+ in-person meetups and networking events for 500+ immigrant women
- Built strong partnerships with 25+ corporates and nonprofit organizations who share our mission
- Recruited 40+ volunteers to help fulfill the Simple Steps mission annually
- Successfully launched online programs to continuously serve our clients during the COVID-19 pandemic; helped 500+ individuals to participate in the pilot programs for five months
