What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The Coachella Valley is filled with young musicians who have a passion for rock music. These young people are often not able to afford lessons, are not able to find other musicians to play in a band with, nor do they know yet how to work together. They have not yet learned how to work to express their feelings in a song both musically and lyrically. They have never performed in front of a live audience.

The Academy of Musical Performance provides them with the training to do all of that and more. It gives them real life skills by teaching them to work together to create, communicate and collaborate as part of a rock band that writes real music and gives live performances in regular venues throughout the Desert.

AMP hears stories back from parents about how their children have found their music home, their music community. They talk about how their child was introverted or depressed ; now are confident, among friends. Parents are grateful for the life skills and positivity.
