Mission

Rainbow Rabbit is a Kindergarden through Grade 4 Anti-Bullying Educational Program. Our organization realizes the significance of empowering children, parents, and educators, to create a positive environment that celebrates unique differences. It is no secret: childhood bullying is a major problem in our society. Whether it's via the internet, physical or verbal, bullying can come in many forms and there are no boundaries. Some young people have turned to drugs, drinking, and even suicide because they don't think there is a viable way out. Many are navigating their way through tough challenging times. The story of Rainbow Rabbit shows that there is hope and things can get better. Our mission is to address serious issues affecting today's children and to bring about positive change.

Notes from the nonprofit

Without a doubt, this program is a terrific tool to educate our children of the importance of acceptance, kindness and tolerance, without resorting to any negative behavior or bullying. Through the lessons taught in Rainbow Rabbit, children learn that they must remain true to who they are, no matter what the obstacles or pressures might be in their path—or as we like to shout Color Me Kind!

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Imagine a program that can change the life of a child during the most important developmental stages of life. This is what we are accomplishing with Rainbow Rabbit!

Our program is a terrific tool to educate our children of the importance of acceptance, kindness and tolerance, without resorting to any negative behavior or bullying. Through the lessons taught in Rainbow Rabbit, children learn that they must remain true to who they are, no matter what the obstacles or pressures might be in their path—or as we like to shout, Color Me Kind!

When compared with last year's program/budget, it's apparent that our program is growing significantly with a greater outreach. As a result, we have expand our program (which you will read below in the next section) and are currently requesting grants, donations and funding. With their help, our goal of 10,000 students reached (and counting) will be positively influenced by Rainbow Rabbit's Anti-Bullying Educational/Kindness Program in 2019.

We believe that once you read Rainbow Rabbit, you will indeed realize its significance as a method of empowering children, parents, and educators who are all navigating together through a sometimes unforgiving society.

In addition to our program, we have expanded our curriculum and added the option of two School Presentations.

Presentation #1 includes:

-Rainbow Rabbit Interactive Assembly presented to your audience. Unique educational storybook/Rainbow Rabbit collector’s plush for each classroom.

-Rainbow Rabbit educational storybook presented to students.

-Q&A with audience and educators after program presentation.

-Rainbow Rabbit collector’s plush and educational story books to be awarded to children who participate during presentation.

-Rainbow Rabbit/Color Me Kind coloring sheets will be given to all students.

Presentation #2 includes:

-Rainbow Rabbit Anti-Bullying/Kindness Educational Program; A unique collectively-based, interactive curriculum, consisting of carefully created materials spanning grades Kindergarten-4th Grade.

-Rainbow Rabbit Interactive Assembly presented to your audience. Unique educational storybook/Rainbow Rabbit collector’s plush for each classroom.

-Rainbow Rabbit educational story book presented to students at assembly.

-Q&A with students and educators after program presentation.

-Rainbow Rabbit collector’s plush and educational story books to be awarded to children who participate during presentation.

-Rainbow Rabbit/Color Me Kind coloring sheets will be given to all students.

Inspired by the book and plush toy created by Arthur Vallee, a former Walt Disney animator in the 1930s, our unique program, compiled by school teachers, child psychologists, anti-bullying experts and school guidance counselors, is unlike any other program currently being offered to schools and educators in the United States. It provides the tools and coping mechanisms to assist students beginning from a very young age, to handle effectively difficult situations in and out of the classroom, with carefully created materials strategically planned and ready at your disposal. All of this coming at a fraction of the cost of other programs with no teacher training or instruction involved. The program has even proved to be successful with special needs children as well!

Here is a sample of what's included:

-Easily implemented lessons in kindness courtesy, tolerance and assertiveness, which includes core curriculum oriented skill-building.

-Role-playing situations that allow students to delve into more specific aspects of the nature and origins of bullying and discover more appropriate intervention tactics.

-Special fundraising programs, which can assist your school to raise money.

-Rainbow Rabbit Sees America! A specifically tailored geography lesson which chronicles the adventures of Rainbow Rabbit as he travels across America, visiting some of the nation's most educational and iconic landmarks.

Although Rainbow Rabbit made great strides in 2018 with our program expansion in several learning institutions across the Delaware Valley, two schools in particular exemplified what our program represents. This metric was based on testimonials, news coverage and follow up reports from Birches Elementary School and Upper Pittsgrove Township/Salem County Special Services School.

Our intentions for the program were met by having an active Rainbow Rabbit yearly presence at the school among teachers, faculty, and students. At Birches Elementary School. Our program was also fortunate enough to have police, firefighters and EMTs contribute to their Kindness Week, which featured Rainbow Rabbit. We were also featured on SNJ's nightly news telecast, and on NJ.com with strong testimonials from Student Assistance Counselor Michael Petticrew.

Our program can change the life of a child during the most important developmental stages of their lives. One particular story over the last year we encountered took place at an Occupational Therapy clinic. While several of the children lacked social skills, one child in particular was on the Autism spectrum. Being that it was during Autism Awareness Month, she wanted to address to her classmates why she sometimes had to take different classes than her peers, but was reluctant.

However, we asked her if having Rainbow Rabbit by her side would make it easier. We proceeded to give her a Rainbow Rabbit collector's plush, and she didn't put it down for days. Even sleeping with it as her mother read her the story of Rainbow Rabbit several times. The next day, she read the story to her classmates with Rainbow Rabbit right by her side. That story alone proves that we are making a difference, and our program expansion is the next logical and natural option.

The more schools we are able to attend and provide the program to, the more unique situations we encounter, which allows us to address and confront the important issues that are having an impact on young children today. A prime example of this is our expanded grant initiative/budget. When compared with last year's, it's apparent that our program is growing significantly with a greater outreach. With proper exposure/grants from generous donors/funders who believe in our program, over 10,000 students and counting will be positively influenced by Rainbow Rabbit's Anti-Bullying Educational/Kindness Program in 2019.
