What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The challenges that young Latinos face in the United States are many. Our organization specifically addresses the needs of first, second, and third generation young Latino immigrants. There is a wide gap in ministries addressed to this specific group of young people. These young Latinos are the church at higher and higher rates because they are not finiding community and programs where they feel welcomed. Many young Latinos struggle to stay in school, with on 22% of Latinos graduating with an associates degree or higher. Many Latinos live in poverty and often end up in crowds where drugs are a problem. The suicide rate among young Latinos is double that of white young people in this country.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal is to empower and equip young Latinos with high-quality faith formation that will enable them to become transformative leaders. We create community, support and resources that allow young Latinos to suceed and believe in themselves. We have a mentorship program to help Latinos stay in school and get good jobs. We run retreats and formative experiences that show Latinos they have a place in the church here.

Our strategy is to empower young people with high quality formation, to provide leadership experiences, and to create a welcoming community where these young Latinos feel accepted and valued for who they are.

Iskali has a strong board and committed leadership team with the education and experience to make our programs successful.

Iskali has run over 30 retreats with 1,240 particpants, we have 9 active communities, we have 350 volunteers who have collectively voluntered 25,100 hours, we have 15 young members who are being mentored through college currently.
