What we aim to solve
BASMAH believes in change. The right kind of change happens when people are empowered. BASMAH's aim is to ensure long-term stability while providing short-term help where necessary. Its development interventions target long- term growth and to bring about a meaningful change in the lives of people who are disadvantaged and in distress. With this end in view BASMAH extended its development cooperation to complement the efforts of Bangladesh which is the host country of the Rohingya refugees. Bangladesh itself is faced with multi-faceted problems. BASMAH runs programs on education, health service, disaster and humanitarian assistance and skill development for the disadvantaged people.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Medical Centers for Rohingya Refugees
BASMAH Health Clinics provide regular free treatment for the Rohingya refugees. Our clinics provide essential health care, health advice, and health checkups for them. Alhamdulillah, every day hundreds of patients- women, children, and elderly are befitting and getting free medicines from our centers.
Educational Facilities
BASMAH believes that quality, affordable education should be available to all children. Education paves the way to a brighter future for children. The prevailing poverty and unemployment in Bangladesh rob the opportunity of having an education in many remote and poor communities.
We provide free quality education for the children, especially for the disadvantaged children in remote areas in Bangladesh. We have established schools in Nunertek in Narayanganj, Rangpur, and Mymensingh districts. We provide the children with the skills needed for them to obtain a successful life and free books, snacks, school dresses and bags, and other necessary items.
Your donation today can shape a child's future by giving them the gift of an education.
Orphan Centers
Your small support can truly make a difference in ensuring a bright future for orphans and the helpless. There are many orphans and helpless children, especially in the Rohingya refugee camp, where the orphans are heartbreaking casualties. BASMAH has come forward and established orphan center schools in Rangpur, Narayanganj, and Mymensingh. We also support the orphans at the Rohingya refugee camps where the Rohingya orphans come and go but do not stay overnight at the centers. Our orphan centers provided the children with the necessary shelter, healthy meals, clothes, healthcare and education to have a better life. Our Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) teaches us, that we must protect and support the orphans. Support an orphan! You can help change a childs life and future by providing education and care.
Women Empowerment Centers
Our vocational program has opened doors for the Rohingya refugee and other needy women to become self-sufficient. The poor women have limited opportunities to earn an income. Often, they also face discrimination in the workforce. Many women being the head of households seriously suffer in running the family due to financial constraints.
BASMAH skill training program is empowering poor women Rohingya refugees and other needy women. Our sewing machine training and free machine distribution program provide them with the skills needed to open a small business in their household.
Our training centers are located in Coxs Bazar, Mymensingh, and Narayanganj districts and we are gradually opening centers across Bangladesh. After completion of the program, many women are now earning incomes by manufacturing school uniforms for students at BASAMH learning programs. Many women are now able to support their families.
Your generous support can change the life of a poor woman.
Shelters and Homes for the Homeless
BASMAH is dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of orphans and homeless individuals in Bangladesh, providing them with essential care, education, and a chance for a better life. Orphaned children, in particular, are deprived of their childhood and the opportunities for a brighter future due to the lack of support.
In addition to orphan care, BASMAH is committed to assisting homeless people, many of whom are elderly women and men living on the streets and at railway stations. These individuals face harsh conditions with little access to food, medical care, and emotional support.
To address these pressing issues, BASMAH is currently constructing a home for orphans and homeless people in Sonmandi, Narayanganj, Bangladesh. The envisioned center will be nestled amidst lush greenery, farms, and ponds. This environment is designed to foster a sense of well-being and engagement for the residents. Moreover, the center will offer opportunities for productive work on the farms, allowing indi
Food Distribution Project
Bangladesh where economic inequality, extreme poverty, and food insecurity are rampant. With a population of 164 million and recurrent natural disasters, many people, including children and the homeless, struggle to afford a proper meal.
BASMAH is dedicated to reaching the Hard to Reach People who live with hunger, including poor slum dwellers and street people. Through our program, we provide nutritious cooked meals in three areas every day. For just $1 a day, you can make a difference by providing sustenance and hope to those in need.
We prioritize nutrition, ensuring that our meals consist of rice, lentils, vegetables, and protein sources to meet dietary needs. Your donation will directly impact the lives of those facing food insecurity in Bangladesh, providing them with balanced meals for their growth and well-being. Join us in our mission to combat hunger and bring comfort to vulnerable communities. Your generosity can create a brighter future for hungry children and the homel
Clean Water Initiative
Water is essential, water is life. Many people still do not have access to clean water in remote and poor communities in Bangladesh. The women, children and the elderly suffer the most from the water crisis.
Giving water is one of the best forms of service to the needy that one can provide. This is Sadaqah Jariya, providing a lifeline that keeps on giving water to needy communities.
BASMAH has built hundreds of clean water wells that are providing free clean water to poor and needy people in the remote communities in Bangladesh.
The cost of water wells varies depending on the condition of the location. In normal districts in Bangladesh, the cost is $250, in cyclone-affected/coastal districts it is $500 and in the Rohingya refugee camp, it is $ 2500 due to the hilly region.
You can donate to a well; your Sadaqah can ensure a long-lasting reward. Please donate water wells on behalf of your parents and loved ones.
Winter Relief
In the harsh winter, the poor and vulnerable people have little to protect themselves. The situation in Rohingya refugee camp is even worse as they left behind everything. At the arrival of brutal winter, the poor and needy have little to protect themselves against the relentless cold.
Basmah has been distributing winter clothes among the Rohingya Refugees and needy local communities in Bangladeshis for the last few years. We have distributed free blankets and hoodies in many parts of Bangladesh to help poor people cope with the winter.
Your warmth can comfort the refugees, the children, poor men, and women. You can care for those who feel forgotten, those who are vulnerable. You can also join in the reward by helping these people by donating to our cause.
Share your warmth.
Emergency Response
BASMAH jumps into humanitarian crises and natural calamities as and when they occur. Responding to crises is a core philosophy of BASMAH. We have provided emergency assistance and aid in many cyclones, widespread floods, tidal surges, and fire incidents. We provide rescue and first aid such as food, water, and other life-saving materials during the crisis. During the post-disaster phase, we offer house reconstruction and livelihood rehabilitation support for the affected people.
