What we aim to solve
African Wildlife Protectors and Rangers face unprecedented poaching threats against the rhino and other endangered species. Combined with diminished resources for conservation, the future of endangered species in Africa is in danger. Eco Defense Group pursues a Find, Fix, Finish model of consultation and training to develop intelligence network and counter-poaching unit capabilities where solutions are most needed.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Wildlife Protection
IN NATIONAL PARKS AND WILDLIFE RESERVES AROUND AFRICA, RANGERS FACE EXTRAORDINARY THREATS — FROM WELL-ARMED, WELL-TRAINED POACHERS BACKED BY INTERNATIONAL TRAFFICKING SYNDICATES TO ENVIRONMENTAL DANGERS LIKE ANIMAL PREDATORS.
ECO DEFENSE GROUP EXPERT SPECIALISTS OFFER ADVANCED SKILLS AND NECESSARY EQUIPMENT TO THOSE RANGERS THAT RISK EVERYTHING DAILY TO ENSURE THAT FUTURE GENERATIONS CAN EXPERIENCE ELEPHANT, RHINO, LION AND MORE.
WHAT THEY DO, THEY DO FOR ALL OF US — SO ECO DEFENSE GROUP IS HERE TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE THE BEST AT WHAT THEY DO.
Consultation and Development
Through both a field and closed-door Mission Analysis, Eco Defense Group experts identify if and how our specialized skills and network can add value and increase readiness in an area where wildlife is threatened. We look especially for ways in which we are uniquely positioned to offer a solution.
Through a collaborative process, Eco Defense Group crafts a unique and precise solution with the goal to make wildlife protectors more safe and more capable against the threat that they face. We identify also any tools needed to facilitate our effort.
Serving Community
Eco Defense Group also believes that we can simply counter a poaching threat — we must also collaborate with and invest in communities. That’s why we’ve partnered with The By Grace Foundation to implement textile centers, employ women and educate youth wherever we work, and in some cases to build a bridge between local communities and the Rangers in nearby parks through the manufacture of mission-enhancing items.
