What we aim to solve New!

Historically, kidney cancer research and awareness has lagged when compared to multiple other cancers. Nonetheless, there are almost 65,000 new cases of kidney cancer annually and more than 15,000 people die from this disease every year. Kidney cancer is the ninth most common form of cancer in the U.S.

What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?

What have and haven't they accomplished so far?

We aim to address this inequity by raising awareness and funding for kidney cancer research.

Educate policymakers, the general public and patients and caregivers by providing current and relevant information. Provide advocacy opportunities for our stakeholders. Raise awareness through social media and communities of those impacted by this disease.

We have a network of concerned patients and caregivers. We have made significant progress with raising our voice on Capitol Hill and developing relationships with our elected representatives. We host networking opportunities for our stakeholders.

Increased awareness and attendance to our activities and advocacy events.

We have been able to secure $20 million in dedicated research funding for the kidney cancer community via the KCRP http://cdmrp.army.mil/kcrp/default. We plan to protect this program and increase the dedicated funding amounts. We plan to increase our presence and voice on matters of public policy such as "access to care, tele-medicine and the FDA approval process."
