What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

PTSD kills our veterans, not suicide. 14 of the 22 "soldier" suicides a day are veterans aged 50+. The families we serve are financially and emotionally distressed. Thanks to PTSD and their suicide, often at home, the families now acquire PTSD. The VA only gives any veteran a plot in a national cemetery, an in-ground marker and a 30-minute ceremony. Cash benefits range from $300-$2,000. With the average funeral being $12,000 - $15,000, you can see how a PTSD-ridden veteran who's been struggling at home and at work can't afford pre-planning or have the savings to cover the costs of a funeral. Our families don't. Some do.

In a partnership with David Lynch Foundation, we award 5 scholarships to learn TM. These scholarships pay for in-home lessons on how to learn to meditate. This program has a very long waiting list. Certified trainers are matched via proximity to those in need and each trainer's experience with their type of trauma.

Partnering with HorsePlay Therapy's Rise Up For Veterans Program, we pay for the costs for this horse therapy. Highly effective for children and adults, the movement of the horses is magic. During the training, the client is so focused on the horse that they don't notice that the therapy.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We have two programs that help the family:
Silver Lining Project - financial aid to pay their funeral bills. These are a combination of credit card bills, bank loans or personal loans.

Silver Lining Memorials - the emotional support we offer those, including PTSD support.

We were born digital. Our communication and marketing strategy is digital domination using the Google ad grant, our content creation and our digital marketing expertise. We have been very successful using all three and in a short time have reach a top tier status in reaching those who are looking for our help via the internet.

As we scale up our giving, our community-building goals will match the digital success.

We receive the Google ad grant which affords us $10,000/month in perpetuity.
We have a digital marketing team that specializes in the application of the grant.
We have a dedicated team of digital marketers who cover the rest of the digital outreach projects.
We partner with the PGA Tour via their Birdies for Charity which allows our donors to get a chance to win $10,000 every year.

We are on course for meeting our giving goals for 2019.
