What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Quality STEM and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) education and opportunities are limited in many low-income and communities with a majority of people of color. We aim to minimize these gaps by providing high quality programs, opportunities, and access to STEM and STEAM to youths in these communities.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our organization is aiming to motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in STEAM-related fields, inspire them to become leaders and innovators, and enhance self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills. We plan on accomplishing this goal by providing access to STEAM through our core values of EQUITY, OPPORTUNITY, and UNITY.

We specifically recruit young people, ages 13-19, to join our programs to involve them in work they may not normally have access to. While we recruit all races and genders, we target young Black and Latinx boys and all girls, as these demographics have been historically starved of opportunities in STEAM.

Full Metal Beavers does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), immigration status, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, pregnancy status, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.

Our organization is highly capable of achieving these goals and has made significant progress every day and every year towards them. We are constantly expanding available programs, membership, and recruitment initiatives to guarantee success in these goals.

From 2017 to 2020:
1. Our female youth membership have increased from 19% to 43%.
2. Our Black youth membership has increased from 10% to 37%.
3. Our Latino/Latina/Latinx youth membership has increased from 6% to 18%.
4. Female leadership roles and opportunities have increased from 2 to 16.
5. Participation in STEM/STEAM-related programs and contests have increased from 2 to 12.
