What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

By 2030, the number of older Americans with disabilities is expected to surpass 72 million. Gaps persist among differing racial and socioeconomic groups in level of disability and inequality in medical care. The availability of quality long-term care options remain to be insufficient to accommodate the rapidly aging baby boomers (Freedman & Kasper, 2014). Our organization aims to address disparities in long-term care amongst these individuals.

Our programs

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Compassion & Companionship

Whether crafting, singing or sharing in stories from the past, Seniors benefit greatly from compassion and companionship. Our volunteers are taught the importance of presence and interaction while visiting. During our visits in nursing homes and other community living environments, we engage elderly persons in activities, games, crafts and other group activities. As with all of our programs, Compassion and Companionship Outreach events are made possible through donations and volunteers.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal is to provide interventions in the form of funding, volunteering, and service that will improve the quality of life and access to long-term care needs of the older population.

After thorough assessment of LTCF with at least 45% medicaid funding, we will provide on site services to residents of such facilities. This will supplement gaps in care due to inadequate staffing and funding.

We will collect donated goods that will be distributed to Seniors with unmet needs.

We will provide caregiver training opportunities with priority to over aged fosters and underserved populations at risk for unemployment or poverty. Following training, we will assist these individuals with job placement in facilities that have proven lack in care staff.

Our success relies on the generosity of individual and corporate donations. We are positioning ourselves to qualify for government grants and contracts.

Thus far, we have identified our target market and acquired the necessary credentials to drive our mission. We have built a team of dedicated directors, donors and volunteers. Since from 2017-2020 we experienced growth over 200%. We have grown our Gifting program from 50 recipients to 3500 recipients. We are now opening our second care home location in Denton.
