Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Youth Development Programs

Our goal is to give youth personal support, resources, skills, and knowledge they need to become healthy, self-sufficient, resilient, and successful adults. This program includes youth community nights, stress management and mindfulness practices, independent living skills training, and mentors for youth in extended foster care. Through these programs, we hope to prepare youth to become responsible for their own care, improve communication skills, develop healthy relationships, and improve educational performance.

Population(s) Served

The mission of my community cares is to strengthen families and support communities. MCC envisions communities where all children and families are healthy and safe and have equitable access to services and supports. We connect individuals to services and resources to help them become stable, safe, and self-sufficient. Through My Community Cares, children and families, and community members come together to establish relationships, share experiences, support one another, and build resilience.

New Foster Parent Mentoring Program was created from the belief that becoming a foster parent is not a road anyone should travel alone. Experienced foster parents become trained mentors for new foster families and help them navigate the foster care system. If you would like to be a part of this program, please email [email protected]

Youth Development Programs provide resources, support, and experiences for youth to build resiliency and reach their fullest potential. Youth are engaged with youth community nights, a youth action board, personal growth opportunities, and in-depth case management services. The Youth Action Board is made up of current and former foster youth who co-design and execute all of our programs, advocate on behalf of youth in our community, assist in grant writing, engage in the judicial system, and more.
