What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

As a private practice counselor for the past 13 years, I have found that there is a great need for mental health counseling. Although the majority of the population we serve is historically underserved and is covered by Medicaid, there is still a large population that either has no insurance or they have deductibles that are so high that they cannot afford counseling. My practice has provided countless hours of pro-bono or reduced fee services, but cannot fullfill the need. By creating this non-profit, we are looking to provide mental health and behavioral health counseling to children, teens and adults, we hope to provide these much needed services.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

To provide mental and behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults that either have no insurance coverage or have such high deductibles that they cannot afford these much needed services. We will provide camps that have already proven to reduce the need for a higher level of care including hospitalization. This will allow individuals to remain in their communities and work at getting better.

Fundraising, requesting grants, donations, etc .

We have been in the mental health business since 1999 and have learned what the needs of the community are and potential ways of solving those needs. We have created different programs and camps that have proven to help reduce the need for higher levels of care, which allow children and teens to stay in their community and in their school.

We established a non-profit this year. We have had a successful launch event, followed by two fundraisers. We have started submitting grant applications to different companies. We have one company that has added our non-profit to their list and they will match donations made by their employees.
