What we aim to solve
The Western Journal Of Medicine states, "The worldwide epidemic of obesity is reaching critical proportions", and this was written nearly 20 years ago. Obesity is one symptom of a significant health crisis locally and globally. Running is one way to address this issue.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We encourage local folks to become more active, more fit, and healthier, primarily through activities geared toward runners and people who would like to start running.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We currently offer three programs:
1. Free Saturday training runs for all running abilities, from May through September.
2. Free races over distances from 5k to 3/4 marathon (20 miles), from October through February.
3. Free coaching for runners of all ability levels.
4. Free fitness newsletter.
We are hoping to offer more free programs in the future.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our board consists of several very experienced runners who understand the sport and what it entails. Our training runs are designed specifically to help runners improve. Being a charitable 501(c)3 non-profit allows us to raise the funds to cover the costs of all of our races. Running is a fairly minimalist sport so it's easy to fund and execute various types of events.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
1. We saw 40 new participants at this season's races.
2. A group of beginning runners improved their running speeds and distances this past summer.
3. Our new coaching program now includes several athletes.
4. We had 35 cash donors this past year.
