SEMA US is committed to providing quality humanitarian medical relief for displaced persons and educating local health workers.

To provide medical assistance and general medical care wherever possible for the patients in areas affected by disasters as well as under-served places.

To undertake relief and development programs through the provision of services including, but not limited to, the provisions of hospitals, clinics, doctors, nurses, medications, and equipment for needy areas.

To respond to the need of refugees or displaced people in the United States or elsewhere in the world.

To provide advisers, experts, and administrators to supervise or assist in relief and development programs in areas of need.

To promote, develop, and carry out medical education and training programs, as well as arrange and provide exhibitions, lectures, meetings, seminars, research, displays, or classes in needy areas.

Collaborate with other NGOs (non-government organizations) that have the same mission inside or outside the United States.

SEMA US supports a network of hospitals, primary healthcare facilities and clinics. Our primary healthcare centers and clinics implement a basic package of services including reproductive health, pediatrics, mental health and psychological support, communicable and non-communicable disease prevention and treatment, nutrition and vaccination protocols. SEMA US also operates secondary health care facilities capable of responding to trauma, surgical, maternity, and pediatric concerns.

SEMA US focuses on increasing the resilience and capacity of the health sector inside Syriaby offering training and lectures in:

- Basic life support (BLS)
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
- Neonatal resuscitation program (NRP)
- Helping babies breathe (HBB)
- The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program
- Advanced Life Support of Obstetrics (ALSO)
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
- Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC)
- Basic and Advanced laparoscopic surgery
- Advanced neonatal and adult intensive care
- Pain management
- Anesthesiology.
- Trauma and emergency.

Supporting our programs and operations inside Syria, SEMA US develops close relationships with the personnel in these facilities and responds to their needs and challenges, not only with resources but in building relationship with and seeking support from US institutions and audiences.

In capacity building, SEMA US works to provide medical trainings and certifications through activities like:
The translation and distribution of the first Arabic language Helping Babies Breath Manual and the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) certification.



SEMA US is a member of SEMA International, which is a federation between SEMA Turkey, SEMA France, SEMA Italy and SEMA US

All SEMA organizations participate in the board of directors of SEMA International. The organizations of the federation are managed by shared bylaws and regulations, and interchange resources to conduct projects together.

In Syria, SEMA US currently sponsors: Al-Ekha'a Women and Children's hospital, 3 primary healthcare centers, and the Academy of Health Sciences. SEMA In 2019, we expanded our programming into the Kurdish region of Iraq-opening two primary healthcare centers in Duhok.
We expect to expand into Yemen in 2020.
