Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
United Way of Southwest Wyoming
United Way of Southwest Wyoming works to create sustainable change by forming collaborative community efforts. Funds raised are invested in quality community programs that demonstrate measurable outcomes.
SingleCare Partnership
United Way of Southwest Wyoming has partnered with SingleCare by distributing discount prescription drug cards throughout Southwest Wyoming.
SingleCare cards are primarily for people with no health insurance or prescription coverage. However, they can also be used for prescriptions not covered by health insurance, Medicaid, Medicare or VA benefits. The cards have no usage or age limits, no income requirements, do not require registration forms and can be used immediately.
SingleCare cards are available and accepted in most pharmacies in Lincoln, Sublette, Sweetwater and Uinta Counties.
SingleCare cards can also be obtained by contacting United Way of Southwest Wyoming. To look up drug prices, print a card, or get a list of participating pharmacies go to https://www.singlecare.com
The paper, printing of the cards and shipping of the cards is donated. Participating pharmacies provide the prescription drug savings.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Southwest Wyoming
Through this program, enrolled children will be mailed one free, age appropriate, book each month. Research shows that reading aloud is the single most important thing you can do to help a child prepare for reading and learning. This program helps increase reading aloud to children.
United Way of Southwest Wyoming raises funds to pay for the shipping of the books, promotes the program and registers the children and manages the database. From there, the Dollywood Foundation manages the shipping of the books.
Having access to books and reading aloud has numerous benefits to a child; reading aloud builds literacy skills, language and brain development. The number of words that a child knows upon entering kindergarten is a key predictor of his or her future success.
United Way of Southwest Wyoming Community Diaper Bank
When we relieve the burden of diaper need we are keeping our babies clean, dry and healthy while creating financial and emotional breathing room for families. Visit the pages below for more information on the Community Diapers Banks in Southwest Wyoming.
Diapers are a basic need for a baby, they are essential to a baby's health and well-being, but the lack of an adequate supply of diapers has a profound effect on a child's entire family. All too often, parents are forced to make difficult decisions because safety net programs, such as WIC and SNAP (food stamps) don't cover diapers.
By doing this one simple thing, we can help ensure parents can keep working or attending school and children have the diapers they need to attend child care. You can help by donating diapers, wipes or cash.
