VISION BEYOND BORDERS INC
The view from the cross is a vision beyond borders.
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
In oppressed and impoverished countries around the globe, Christians are unable to obtain their own copies of God's Word. Either the government or religious authorities bar the ownership or importation of Bibles or due to remoteness and/or poverty there are no distribution networks to provide Bibles. Vision Beyond Borders' core mission is to make God's Word available to these believers and to seekers led to God's Word. In addition to Bible distribution, Vision Beyond Borders operates four other programs to meet needs around the world: 1. Refugees in the Middle East and elsewhere need clothing, food, blankets, medicine and other supplies. 2. Millions of women and children are enslaved in brothels and sex trafficking networks worldwide. 3. Huge numbers of orphans, street children, and at-risk children need homes. 4. Hundreds of pastors in closed countries struggle to provide for their families while discipling and evangelizing among their impoverished neighbors.

Goals & Strategy
Learn about the organization's key goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress.
Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
1. Vision Beyond Borders works to buy Bibles in native languages in bulk with the goal of providing them to local contacts for distribution on as large a scale as possible.
2. VBB solicits for volunteers to bring in clothing and other donations. Teams of volunteers at our Casper and Billings warehouse facilities process and sort the donated goods. We work with ministry contacts in countries like Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq (Kurdistan) to provide them with as much aid as possible, and obtain the sorts of aid they request as being in need in the refugee camps.
3. VBB works with ministry partners that are working in red-light districts and areas of intense sex trafficking to protect women and rescue those caught up in sex trafficking. We also endeavor to protect children being raised in the red light district and at grave risk of being trafficked as they grow older.
4. Our goal is to provide a safe, loving, well-supplied Christian home to as many children as possible in impoverished and conflict-torn nations like Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Pakistan and India. For example, in Pakistan alone there are estimated to be 1.5 million street children, who are heavily preyed upon by sex molesters on a large scale. (cf. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2739799/Why-millions-Pakistani-children-falling-prey-vicious-paedophiles.html)
5. VBB seeks to support as many pastors as possible in impoverished areas. These are typically subsistence agricultural areas where fellow Christians can provide little support to a pastor and his family, making it difficult to support a family while discipling their flocks and providing the Good News to those around them.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
1. Vision Beyond Borders has shipped well over a million Bibles to closed and impoverished countries in the last 25 years. In 2021 over 328,000 Bibles were sent by land, air and sea, brought in to local contracts for distribution by smuggling teams or in bulk shipments as appropriate to each situation.
2. VBB gathers material donations of clothing, blankets, medicine, food and other items and ships containers to refugee locations in the Middle East where our ministry partners distribute the aid. Volunteers sort, process and pack the aid into 40' shipping containers. In 2021 approximately 110,000 lbs. of aid was provided.
3. VBB sponsors ministry teams and safe houses in sex trafficking hotspots including Nepal, India and Romania to protect women and help rescue them (and their children) out of trafficking.
4. VBB supports children's homes in Pakistan, India, Nepal, Burma, and near tribal conflict zones along the Burmese border. These provide a safe, loving Christian environment for street children, orphans, and children at risk of sex trafficking or abduction as child soldiers, as well as providing them with educational opportunities, medical care and everything they need to thrive.
5. VBB supporters provide monthly/annual sponsorships to hundreds of pastors in countries like Venezuela, Vietnam, Cuba and Nepal. This enables them to provide for their families while focusing on evangelism and discipleship of their growing fellowships in their communities. Ministry teams also visit to provide material support, encouragement, training and other aid as opportunity allows.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Over the last 25 years, VBB and its director Patrick Klein have developed a global network of trusted contacts and ministry partners. Some are able to print hundreds of thousands of Bibles and other literature. Others distribute aid and Bibles in closed countries and under hostile or dangerous conditions. Others minister to women and children, or to refugees in war-torn regions of southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Domestically VBB has several hundred volunteers who amplify the permanent staff by bringing in, processing and sorting donated goods and preparing them for shipment. Some cut flannel graphs for use in children's ministries around the world. Others travel on volunteer ministry teams that smuggle Bibles, bring aid and medical care to women's safe houses or children's homes, or provide training, aid and support to the underground Church in closed countries. They also conduct evangelism in unreached areas of closed countries. The teams are led by VBB staff or a cadre of experienced and qualified volunteer leaders.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In 2021 Vision Beyond Borders:
1. Shipped 328,000 Bibles into closed and impoverished countries.
2. Provided dozens of flannel graph sets to overseas ministries.
3. Supported hundreds of children in sixteen children's homes.
4. Supported two hundred pastors.
5. Provided over 109,000 lbs. of material aid.
6. Supported three women's safe houses/ministries in India, Nepal and Romania.
7. Provided financial support to missionaries, pastors and other aid workers in multiple locations across and around Myanmar (Burma), providing rice, medicine, blankets and other supplies to refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs).
