What we aim to solve
New Jersey ranks #27 in the Country for Shelter Pet Deaths Kanab, UT – Best Friends Animal Society has released its 2020 pet lifesaving findings, which gives a national overview of the number of dogs and cats that enter shelters each year in the United States, and the number of dogs and cats that are leaving those shelters alive. Of the 72,591 dogs and cats that entered New Jersey shelters in 2019, 60,957 found positive placements, for a total state save rate of 83.97%. Only 53.68% of New Jersey shelters are no-kill (a state is considered to be no-kill when every brick-and-mortar shelter serving and/or located within the state has a save rate of 90% or higher). 5,144 dogs and cats remain to be saved in the shelters that are not yet no-kill.

Main strategies we've found crucial for success in dog rescue:
1. **Establishing Clear Goals and Mission:**
We believe it's essential to define our rescue organization's mission and goals. This helps guide our efforts and ensures that everyone involved understands our purpose and objectives.
2. **Legal and Financial Structure:**
We've set up our rescue organization as a legal entity, typically a nonprofit, and established a clear financial structure. This ensures transparency and accountability when handling donations and expenses.
3. **Dedicated Team:**
Building a team of passionate and committed individuals who share our mission has been key. We've assigned specific roles and responsibilities to our volunteers and fosters.
4. **Foster Network:**
Developing a network of foster homes to provide temporary care for rescued dogs is crucial. Fostering helps us assess a dog's behavior and needs, making it easier to find the best permanent homes.
5. **Adoption Process:**
We've implemented a thorough adoption process that includes background checks, home visits, vet reference checks and personal reference checks. Ensuring that potential adopters are capable of providing a safe and loving environment for the dogs is a top priority.
6. **Healthcare and Rehabilitation:**
Prioritizing the health and well-being of rescued dogs is non-negotiable. We provide necessary veterinary care, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and rehabilitation for dogs with behavioral issues or medical conditions.
7. **Education and Training:**
We're dedicated to educating the public about responsible pet ownership, including spaying/neutering, proper training, and regular veterinary care. We offer resources and support to adopters to help them raise healthy, happy dogs.
8. **Fundraising and Donations:**
Developing and executing a fundraising strategy to sustain our rescue organization is vital. This may include events, online campaigns, and partnerships with local businesses or sponsors.
9. **Community Involvement:**
We engage with the local community through outreach programs, adoption events, and partnerships with other animal welfare organization
