What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Many families grieving the death of a child do not have the means to pay for unexpected medical bills, funeral expenses or other related financial burdens. We offer financial assistance and ongoing therapeutic support so they can instead focus on healing.

Financial Support for Bereaved Families Facing Hardship After the Death of a Child

We believe a lack of means should never stand in the way of rebuilding a life. When a financial hardship resulting from the death of your child prevents you from moving forward, this is where The BeliEve Foundation steps in. We provide assistance for things such as with funeral expenses, medical bills and living expenses. 100% of donations go directly to families in need.

In addition to financial assistance, The BeliEve Foundation also connects families with therapeutic resources and provides them with a sponsorship to Faith's Lodge for a weekend of respite and healing. We also fully fund the new onsite 1:1 Grief Therapy Program at Faith's Lodge, expanding our support to grieving families in our community.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The BeliEve Foundation hopes to making the healing journey a little easier for families struggling after the death of a child- one family at a time.
Our mission is to help grieving families in Minnesota with immediate and practical financial assistance and partner with other organizations to offer ongoing emotional support and healing.

Family Outreach:
Continue to seek partnerships with other non-profit organizations and referral sources to get the word out about our foundation to families in need. Maintain ongoing relationships with those we serve. Explore hosting a family event for gift recipients to foster support and sense of community.

Donor Outreach:
Seek growth in our donor base by expanding 1:1 outreach, increasing number of recurring donations and launching new "Become a BeliEver" funding campaign. Explore opportunities to host community event for donors.

The BeliEve Foundation's capabilities for meeting our goals include:

Committed founders and dedicated donor base. The founders cover all administrative costs of The BeliEve Foundation. This frees up the capability of our donor's dollars to go directly to family gifting and ongoing therapeutic support. As we continue to grow and serve more families, we seek growth in our donor base, specifically recurring donors.

Social media outreach. We will continue to use platforms such as Facebook and Instagram and our quarterly newsletter to spread the word about us to both families in need and potential donors.

Dedicated founders, staff and Board of Directors. We have a small staff that works closely with the founders to best serve grieving families, raise the money necessary to operate, and efficiently operate and grow our foundation.

The BeliEve Foundation launched in June 2019. We offer grieving families financial assistance for things such as funeral expenses, rent and mortgage assistance, medical bills, and therapy costs. We also offer our families a full sponsorship for a weekend of respite and healing and 1:1 therapeutic support at Faith's Lodge, one of our key nonprofit partners. We have increased the number of families provided with financial assistance each year. 24 families were helped in 2019, 47 families in 2020, 79 families in 2021, and 134 families in 2022. We are budgeted to provide financial assistance to 150 families in 2023.
